Autumn's Chill (1995)

Autumn's Chill1 is a Japanese manga series written by Kozue Sano and illustrated by Kiwa Teramoto. Autumn's Chill's volumes were released independently and were the first manga volumes ever released by Luxe Honeymoon. The manga has accumulated 12 volumes since its release in 1995.

Synopsis

Setting


The story of Autumn's Chill takes place in a nameless town. It is a typical town, with lots of forests and a famous waterfall that tourists visit.

Premise


Uta Shimabukuro is returning to school as a sophomore after a two-year absence. She is very shy and quiet, and was even afraid to leave her house to return to school. Her classmates laugh about her, and tease her after she introduces herself. She begins to suffer from depression and loses hope about coming back to school and being successful. One day while Uta is going home, a boy stops her and asks if she's alright. She continues walking, saying she's fine. He asks to walk with her, and they talk and laugh. As they reach Uta's house, the boy introduces himself as Kyo Sasori, a senior. Walking home together becomes a routine, and the two grow close. As autumn approaches, Uta becomes ill again, and it's up to Kyo to convince her that life is worth living.

Autumn's Chill has always been released independently. Ever since 1995 it has been in book stores.

Spin-offs


Autumn's Chill has an official spin-off, produced and distributed by another company, but with the permission of Luxe Honeymoon. Annoid2 released The Joy Of A Warm Summer3 in 1999. The spin-off features what life could have been for Uta and Kyo as a family.

Anime

Autumn's Chill received an anime adaptation in 2000. It follows the same plot with the same characters.

Video Games


Autumn's Chill received a visual novel adaptation in 2002, titled as His Touch Is The Antidote4. It follows the same plot with the same characters, and includes bonus segments that follow the plot of The Joy Of A Warm Summer.
