Premise

Anbi Tatsuno has just moved from a quiet town to a big city with her family. She is studious and quiet and has never had a romantic experience. She decides that she's going to try her hand at romance with her fresh start. When she introduces herself in class, she acts very serious and stuck-up, because she overheard some boys talking about how they prefer that kind of girl. Her introduction works, catching the attention of Makoto Suetsugu, a shy, scholarly boy. Makoto subtly follows her around, trying to work up the courage to introduce himself, but Anbi notices and scolds him. He explains he just wanted to get to know her better, and she relaxes. She suggests they eat lunch together, and they quickly become friends. Anbi teases Makoto often, and he develops feelings for her. He has to figure out how to tell her.

Publication

bubbLegum was originally released exclusively in Cutie Edge magazine. The first 3 volumes were scattered in the publications. After 2011, the manga was produced independently and sold in bookstores.
